Airport Parking Directory - BOOK HERE
Glasgow Airport handles around 7.9million passengers a year, making it the busiest airport in Scotland. Recently, there has been some heavy investment in parking facilities at the airport. To get to Glasgow Airport you need to take the M8 for 20 minutes from Glasgow towards Paisley, which is the nearest town. Whilst you can drop passengers off at the terminal, should you wish to see them off, you should look at short term parking.
Should you wish to stay at Glasgow Airport for a few hours, for instance to see someone else off at the airport or to meet them on arrival, then you would be best advised to go to the short stay carpark. The short stay carpark is the nearest to the terminal, being at easy walking distance. The prices start at £1.30 for the first 30 minutes, then £2.60 for the next 30 minutes. Between 1 and 2 hours costs £4.10. This goes up to £8.50 for between 12 and 24 hours. For every 24 hours or part thereof after the first day it also costs £8.50. There are three car parks.
If you want the parking experience to be quicker and easier, then you can park on level 2 of car park 2, which is the nearest to the terminal. This costs £6.50 for the first 3 hours, £9 for between 3 and 12 hours and £10.50 for between 12-24 hours. Car Park two has payment machines which are located within the customer interface areas on the ground and second floor levels. Payments need to be made before returning to your vehicle and there are no machines in the terminal buildings.
In May 2002, a new multi storey car park was opened opposite the terminal building. This cost about £14million and has created about 2,000 spaces over its five levels. There is also as passenger link bridge taking people from the second floor of the new car park to the first floor of the terminal building. New state of the art equipment has been installed which advises of space availability on each floor. There is also added security and CCTV cameras which will give you more peace of mind whilst you are away from your car.
Should you be planning a longer journey and need to keep your car at a car park for the long term then you can use the holiday parking or long stay car park, which offers free transfers which take only five minutes. You are best advised to book, as should you do that you can get a pre-booked rate of £3.90 a day, but if you roll-up on the day you have to pay £4.70 a day. There is a minimum charge which is for 6 days.
